Cabin Keepers
Free to read. Free to write.
There are no paywalls, reading limits or paid tiers on Field Journal. Everyone reads every story, recipe and how-to, and writes as much as they like. Running the cabin still costs money, so some readers choose to chip in. We call them Cabin Keepers.
What a Cabin Keeper gets
- — A small "Cabin Keeper" mark on your Biography, so others know you help keep the lights on.
- — Our thanks, and a say when we ask members what to build next.
- — Nothing else. You don't read more or rank higher than anyone else. That's the point.
How to chip in
Suggested: $3–5 a month, or whatever feels right. The site doesn't take payments itself, so for now send a note through Get Involved and we'll reply with how to send it. Once it arrives, a moderator adds your mark.
Other ways the cabin stays open
- — Cabin Partners: hand-picked outdoor businesses with a quiet, labelled note.
- — Outfitters & Guides: a directory of vetted, ethical guides and lodges.
- — The Annual Anthology: a printed book of the year's best writing.
